To: WTBA's Kraemer Thanks for the plug: George Jordan Is NUTZ! Well I agree. Only a fool, perhaps a flunkie, himself, would try to mobilize 5,000 alumni to head to Fairfield on June 2 and celebrate the 130th Anniversary of the founding of Parsons College in Feb. 24, 1875. Also honor Dr. Millard G. Roberts, former president and his wife, Dr. Louise A. Roberts, former dean of women and professor of English and Humanities. I must be crazy, they are both dead. The college closed in 1973, yet people like you cherish the memories and friendships of an organization that was founded with the spirit of community service and enjoying college life with mutual friends. I told Oprah that I had a dream of her bringing her dream bus to Fairfield along with an Oldies Band. Since no one ponied up $7,000 she might be able to bring a band or R. Kelly. Then I told the Today show producers, that my one dream was to bring 5,000 alumni back to Fairfield in June. Now as crazy as this sounds, I am thinking that several organizations are coming together in groups of two and four, yes there are a couple of other groups who will have 10 and 20 of their members there. Who knows who and how many will come. For this writing there may be as many as 300. The one point I am sure of and there is no NUTZ to this: Those who come will be entertained, welcome by the city and myself and there will be plenty of time to share the past and note the memories. So, my dream continues to include the WTBA and how wonderful it would be to have you and others put aside your personal agendas and reach out to your college classmates and make the image of the WTBA real by riding your motorcycles around the "Square" each wearing your yellow blast jackets. I can hear the applause from those gathered, some with tears in their eyes that the WTBA organization did not forget Fairfield nor Parsons College. Yes, I am a little NUTZ, but I can dream, plan and celebrate that this college despite it being closed served higher education with honor and merit, and her alumni deserves to be treated as good first rate individuals, who in the final analysis gave to their family and communities across America with tools learned at Parsons College. Yes, I guess I am a little more NUTZ than the average guy or woman. No one else would put themselves out to help promote, organize perhaps for the last time a Mid-America tribute to our alma mater. I can only say once again on behalf of a dedicated committee welcome one and all. -George C. Jordan III
